Broker Feedback, Charter New Year St. Martin / St. Barth: Hi Christa, Just off the phone with my client and they had an amazing time on board SHADES OF GREY. The crew went above and beyond fo them with zero hesitations. There were a lot of moving parts with friends and family anchored nearby on other yachts and the entire charter was handled with ease. Each and every crew member is a valuable asset to the charter program and combined with the stunning yacht, in perfect condition, I have zero hesitations of recommending SHADES OF GREY to any of my clients in the future! I was welcomed onboard by Captain Dale and Mia and Samantha. They were very welcoming and I had a long chat with Captain Dale, who is very knowledgeable and professional, we chatted about the boat, different cruising grounds, and I feel very confident that our clients will have a fabulous time under his care. His crew photos does not do him justice I would definitely replace that with a more professional shot. Mia gave me the interior tour and she is very sweet, offered cold water and coffee and showed me around, operating the TV system in the master to show how it moves etc. All cabins are very well appointed and the yacht looks like new. I did like the teak floors on the main deck inside, very different and looked very good. As the name suggests everything is Shades of Grey, they crew are working to get accents to lighten it up a bit, which they want to do with throw cushions and other accessories. Cabins were all a great size and good bathrooms too. Samantha gave me the exterior tour and was very knowledgeable on deck. The upper deck was huge and comfortable as well as being very private. Dale wants to get a BBQ so they can do beach bbq’s for guests and a couple of large bean bag chairs for the upper deck, both of which I think a very good idea. Charter the boat without hesitation, its a great package. Dale also mentioned getting a 5th crew as a dedicated deckhand as Samantha floats between interior and exterior where needed. Hi Bobby, thank you. I will send you a more detailed write up, but in essence this was the perfect holiday. The boat is stunning: we had high expectations of the Sunreef 80 and they were met if not exceeded: beautiful, luxurious, very spacious, functional, beautifully decorated and super comfortable. The toys were great and everybody had so much choice and enormous fun. Both our friends for the first half of the holiday and our family for the second half were completely blown away. But what made the holiday seriously special was the crew. They have been truly special: super professional, extremely attentive, always available, always a step ahead when it came to looking after our needs. The chef was amazing; we ate spectacularly throughout the whole holiday. The whole team have been a dream: they created a harmonious, welcoming, extremely high end service level, with a feeling of being at home. We have been chartering boats for many years but we had not experienced such a beautiful dedicated crew before. The captain has created a perfect team: good atmosphere, always calm, with everybody always available for any need. Francesco is really an amazing skipper - have not met someone like him before in over 15 years of chartering. So we feel we have been very lucky and I think we will charter Shades of Grey again. CAPTAIN: Francesco Testa
Francesco comes from a sea salty family, countless generations of fishermen from the Bay of Naples. Growing up by the sea, a life on the water was inevitable. For over a decade, Francesco has been sailing professionally around the world, delivering yachts and captaining luxury charters across some of the most breathtaking destinations.
Beyond sailing, his passions lie in philosophy, meditation, and martial arts, disciplines that shape his approach to both the sea and life. An avid water sports enthusiast and fisherman, he continues the traditions of his ancestors but now on a global scale. Deeply connected to the ocean, he is also highly sensitive to and respectful of the marine environment, always striving to minimize his impact and protect the waters he calls home.
CHEF Salvatore Di Maio:
With over a decade of culinary experience and a deep-rooted passion passed down from his mother and grandmother, Chef Salvatore brings the heart of southern Italy to Shades of Grey.
Born and raised in Campania, a region world-renowned for its seafood and vibrant culinary heritage, Salvatore creates dishes that are as authentic as they are unforgettable.
His cuisine is simple, healthy, and deeply connected to the sea, designed specifically for life on board. Using fresh, seasonal ingredients, he crafts traditional Mediterranean flavors with elegance and care, always adapting to the rhythm of the ocean and the preferences of his guests.

STEWARDESS Mia Van Aswegen:
Mia is passionate, hardworking and able to work efficiently under pressure. She works well with guests and crew members, and she is very patient. She has learnt how to deal with stress, long hours and somewhat difficult people, gracefully and always professionally.
Her strengths include compassion, hardworking, beeing well organised and punctual.
Mia has worked already on Motoryachts, beeing stewardess and cook. She has a very good eye for table setting and decorations, and will make sure the guests feel like being home from the minute they go on board.
Mia holds a Jetski license and also a Powerboat license.
Mia is working on SHADES OF GREY since the launch of the yacht, she was a great part of the successful season in the Mediterranean Summer.
STEWARDESS: Kami Hutchings
Originally from Chicago, USA, Kami is a warm, easy-going professional with a passion for sailing, hospitality, and adventure. With a background in elementary education and six years of life in Spain, she blends a strong work ethic with a fun-loving, approachable personality that guests instantly connect with.
Now fluent in both English and Spanish (C2), Kami brings excellent communication skills and a positive attitude to every charter. She takes pride in creating a welcoming, high-standard onboard environment and is known for her attention to detail, adaptability, and team spirit.
Born on April 11, 1994, Kami is an American national who loves snorkeling, climbing, and yoga — and is even a certified yoga instructor. Whether helping on deck or delivering a five-star guest experience inside, she brings energy, care, and professionalism to every role.
DECKHAND: Antoine Bourdon
Antoine Bourdon is an energetic and skilled deckhand aboard your luxury charter sailing catamaran, bringing a wealth of offshore experience, a strong work ethic, and a passion for the sea. Holding a Master 200 GT license, Antoine has sailed across the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Atlantic, and Pacific, including a demanding delivery from Tenerife to Tahiti as first mate—proof of both his resilience and competence on the open ocean.
With a background in navigation, tender driving, harbor maneuvers, and onboard maintenance, Antoine is a versatile and dependable crew member. He also brings technical expertise in composite materials from his time as a foil technician, as well as an instructor’s ability to teach and engage guests in water sports like wing foil, windsurfing, and sailing.
Fluent in French and English, with a working knowledge of Spanish, Antoine is a strong communicator and a natural team player. His calm, professional manner and excellent customer service make him approachable and dependable in every situation—from assisting guests on deck to ensuring safe and smooth sailing operations.
