What a Bahamas week costs
A crewed sailing catamaran in the Exumas runs a median of about $31,000 a week, a power catamaran $43,000 and a motor yacht $65,000. Running expenses and VAT on the charter fee are settled separately, along with cruising and fishing permits. Full breakdown by boat type, with real yachts at every level.

Bahamas yacht charters: your questions answered
Charters in Bahamian waters carry VAT on the charter fee, which replaced the older charter tax. On top of that come the usual cruising and fishing permits for the yacht. These are not hidden extras — they appear on the contract before you pay a deposit — but they do mean the advertised weekly rate is not the whole figure, so ask us for the full total for your dates and we will lay it out line by line.
One weekly rate covers the yacht, a crew of at least two including a private chef, all meals and drinks chosen around your preferences, fuel for normal cruising, insurance and the water toys. Outside it sit crew gratuity, VAT and permits, flights and transfers, premium spirits, and anything you spend ashore.
Most yachts in the Caribbean and the Bahamas run a minimum of four nights, though minimums are open to negotiation depending on availability. Christmas, New Year and Spring Break book out furthest ahead and carry the highest rates.
